Projects granted under the Swiss-Slovak Cooperation Programme have an opportunity to engage their activities in EU Screening Week<\/strong>, taking place from September 28 to October 4, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The very first Initiative of the European Commission draws the attention to the importance of preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, and health literacy across Europe. The initiative builds on the dynamics of „<\/strong>Know Your Numbers<\/strong><\/a>„<\/strong> campaign which focuses attention on three key metrics \u2013 blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar. These are critical indicators of heart health, as its elevated levels increase the risk of heart disease, often without any obvious symptoms. The ambition is to bring together European and national organizations, healthcare professionals, patient organizations, public authorities, industry, and civil society in a joint effort to promote prevention and early detection. The Commission believes in a high level of participation from organizations in launching this initiative, which establishes a new European tradition focused on prevention, early disease detection, and health promotion.<\/p>\n

Projects can join the initiative by registering their activity or event (such as local screening or health check initiatives, awareness-raising and communication activities, educational events, community outreach, support for existing screening programs, or other initiatives that promote prevention and early detection) via the online EUSurvey – Survey<\/strong><\/a> questionnaire.<\/p>\n

The goal is simple: to encourage as many Europeans as possible to take preventive health measures, whether through a health check-up, a screening activity, or by getting more information about their health. Every contribution \u2013 whether large or small \u2013 will help to establish a true European movement for prevention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
