Project summary:

The project focuses on systematically strengthening the prevention of noncommunicable diseases in Slovakia through integrated measures that combine institutional capacity, professional collaboration, and direct engagement with the public. The main objective is to improve the health status of the population, reduce the incidence and severity of lifestyle-related diseases, lower the rate of preventable mortality, and reduce the incidence of preventable noncommunicable diseases, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the public health system. The project’s strategic focus aligns with the Slovak Republic’s National Health Program, the Action Plan for the Prevention of Chronic Diseases 2021–2030, as well as European framework documents on health promotion and the prevention of noncommunicable diseases. The project also reflects the priorities of the Swiss-Slovak Cooperation Program in the field of prevention, which emphasize a systemic approach, multisectoral coordination, and the promotion of health literacy.
