Project summary:

The goal of the project is to strengthen the prevention of noncommunicable diseases and promote a healthy lifestyle through intersectoral and multilevel cooperation, thereby contributing to a reduction in preventable mortality and noncommunicable diseases that can be prevented. Through the implementation of this project, the city of Nové Zámky and its partners will contribute to the implementation of the “Healthy City of Nové Zámky” initiative. In addition to the three mandatory activities, the city is also implementing changes to the physical environment to promote health (park revitalization). Four additional activities carried out by the city’s four partners are focused on increasing health literacy, building community resilience, and initiatives to address health needs. These include the establishment of the Center for the Prevention of Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases (partner: regional PHA), the development of a protocol and work methodology for staff at the Center for the Prevention of Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases (partner: BRC SAS), “Veggie Frenzy” (partner: The Little Chef Without a Hut NGO), and “Let’s Get Nové Zámky Moving” (partner: Athletic Club).

• Coordinated involvement of self-governments in NCD prevention and health promotion
• Increased awareness and understanding of NCDs and health promotion among the general public
• Improved coordination and communication at the municipal level in the area of noncommunicable disease prevention and health promotion
