Project summary:

The pre-defined project of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic and 8 regional public health authorities as partners is aimed at creating a governance model for a coordinated and comprehensive system of NCD prevention and health promotion, promotion of the sharing of good practice, strengthening staff capacity in the field of health promotion and NCD prevention, and strengthening cooperation among stakeholders.

  1. Approved NCD prevention and health promotion governance model
  2. Coordinated involvement of self-governments in NCD prevention and health promotion
  3. Increased awareness and understanding of NCDs and health promotion among the general public
  4. Improved coordination and communication at municipal level on NCD prevention and health promotion

Project activities:

  1. Creation of a governance model for coordinated NCD prevention and health promotion system,
  2. Creation of a digital platform called ‘National Portal of Best Practice‘ as a set of tools and as an accumulator of best practice in the field of NCD prevention and health promotion,
  3. Strengthening of personal capacities in the field of health promotion and NCD prevention,
  4. Creation of a multisectoral network of stakeholders working in the field of NCD prevention and health promotion,
  5. Creation of a communication platform under the leadership of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic,
  6. Provision of methodological support and guidance to the multisectoral network.
