Project summary:

The project focuses on preventing cardiovascular diseases among the inhabitants of Košice, the second largest city in Slovakia. It is implemented in cooperation with the City of Košice, the East Slovak Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (VÚSCH), the Regional Public Health Authority in Michalovce, and the City District Sídlisko nad Jazerom. Main activities include establishing the East Slovak Centre for Cardiovascular Prevention and Biomedicine with modern equipment; organizing Health Days in revitalized outdoor areas of VÚSCH and on municipal sports grounds; procuring a larger-than-life heart model for educational purposes; launching a digital application that demonstrates the importance of prevention through data and predictive scenarios; and revitalizing community sports facilities in selected city districts. The project combines medical expertise, community engagement, and innovative tools to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce cardiovascular risks.
