  • Implementation of the “Biodiversity” Program is progressing successfully

The implementation of the “Biodiversity” Program has gained momentum since the signing of the Support Measure Agreement on February 13, 2025.

Another important milestone was the first meeting of the Steering Committee, which took place on March 5, 2025, at the MIRRI SR premises. The Steering Committee is the most important body in the implementation process of the Program, overseeing the execution of the Support Measure, proposing potential changes and modifications, and deciding on project requests submitted within the open call.

On March 13, 2025, a workshop for the implementation of the Project “Tourists and Nature Together” was held at the Multicenter in the City of Spišská Nová Ves. It was intended for the Project Promoter – the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic and the National Park Administrations as Project Partners. Representatives of the National Coordination Unit introduced key documents from the Legal Framework of the Second Swiss Contribution and implementation documents – the Project Contract and Project Implementation Manual, particularly regarding obligations and procedures for project implementation. The use of the EGRANT information system for submitting reports was demonstrated using a model project. The constructive discussion provided specific questions and practical answers.

An online information seminar for potential applicants within the open call “Strengthening Biodiversity in Protected Areas,” launched on February 13, 2025, will be held on March 19, 2025.

The common goal of these events is to contribute to the successful implementation of the Programme “Biodiversity”, which is the largest within the Swiss-Slovak Cooperation Programme.
