  • Information Seminar for the BIO02 call titled Strengthening Biodiversity in Protected Areas

    The Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, as the Programme Operator of the “Promoting Sustainable Tourism and Strengthening Biodiversity in Protected Areas” programme, supported under the second Swiss Contribution, informs the public about the organization of an Information Seminar for the BIO02 call titled Strengthening Biodiversity in Protected Areas.

    This event follows the announcement of the call Strengthening Biodiversity in Protected Areas (BIO02) in February 2025, aimed at identifying projects focused on the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity in and around protected areas in Slovakia.

    Eligible Applicants:

    Organizations: national administration, regional administration (including associations), local administration (including associations and municipalities), universities/academies and schools, and non-governmental/non-profit organizations established as legal entities in Slovakia and operating in the field of environmental protection.

    The applicant must demonstrate at least one year of activity in environmental protection preceding the call announcement.

    The Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic and Slovak National Parks Administrations (hereinafter referred to as “NPAs”) are not eligible applicants.

    Eligible Partners:

    Organizations: national administration, regional administration (including associations), local administration (including associations and municipalities), universities/academies and schools, non-governmental/non-profit organizations, private sector entities, and other organizations established as legal entities either in Switzerland or Slovakia, as well as international organizations actively involved and effectively contributing to project implementation, are considered eligible project partners.

    The Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic is not an eligible partner in any selected projects under this call.

    Any of the nine NPAs are eligible partners in projects selected under this call; however, they cannot be awarded a project grant.

    Funding Details:

    • Maximum project grant: €500,000
    • Minimum project grant: €200,000
    • Co-financing requirement: 5%
    • Total allocation: €3,150,000
