  • More than 5,000 Young People Explored Cesta Profíka at Agrokomplex 2026

What can modern agriculture and vocational education look like? More than 5,000 young people set out to find the answer by taking part in the „Path of a Pro“ interactive career experience at this year’s Agrokomplex in Nitra.

The 51st edition of the international agricultural and food exhibition Agrokomplex, held from 2 to 6 September 2026, showcased modern opportunities in vocational education and career development in the agri-food sector. Of the 10,021 pupils and students who visited the exhibition, more than half – over 5,000 young people – took part in Path of a Pro .

The programme also featured the national AgroSkills 2026 competition, where 28 students from 14 secondary vocational schools competed over three days to demonstrate their professional skills. The competitors completed 10 practical disciplines, demonstrating their abilities in working with modern equipment, assembly, diagnostics and hands-on field tasks.

Young visitors could also try the Career Mirror, an activity designed to help them identify their personal profiles and, with the support of Talent Centre experts, explore suitable career paths. Teachers and career counsellors gained new insights at the AgroKariéra Corner, which focused on current trends in vocational education.

An important part of the event was a professional discussion forum dedicated to generational renewal in agriculture. Swiss expert Jonas Eyer, together with other specialists, presented examples of good practice and discussed ways of attracting the younger generation to modern agriculture.

Another important milestone was the expansion of the project to 14 secondary vocational schools. Six new schools joined the project by signing memoranda of cooperation during Agrokomplex.

Agrokomplex 2026 demonstrated that bringing together Swiss know-how, vocational education and the needs of the labour market can deliver tangible results. Path of a Pro helps young people discover opportunities for their future careers while bringing modern agriculture closer to the next generation.

This is another example of how the objectives of the Second Swiss-Slovak Cooperation Programme are being put into practice – supporting high-quality vocational education, strengthening links between schools and the labour market, and bringing expertise and experience to Slovakia that can contribute to a sustainable future.
