  • News from the “Vocational Education and Training” Project

The implementation of the project “Improving the Quality and Attractiveness of Vocational Education and Training (VET) towards Labour Market Needs”, carried out by the State Institute of Vocational Education (SIVE), is progressing successfully and delivering a range of engaging activities. Here are the three latest updates:

    1. Pilot Slovak language courses for foreign nationals have launched
At the end of February, pilot Slovak language courses for foreign nationals were launched. These are not general language courses; instead, they focus on vocational and production-related terminology, understanding work procedures, and practical communication in everyday situations. In the pilot phase, the training is aimed at the automotive and related industries. As one of the tools supporting the integration of foreign nationals into the labour market, this project activity responds to current labour market needs, the shortage of local labour, and the growing number of foreign employees in Slovak industry.
