  • Decision on Supported Projects under Call BIO02 “Strengthening Biodiversity in Protected Areas”

    On 2 October 2025, the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, as the Programme Operator of the “Support for Sustainable Tourism and Strengthening Biodiversity in Protected Areas” Programme implemented under the Swiss–Slovak Cooperation Programme, decided on the award of grants (i.e. which projects will be supported) for Call BIO02, entitled “Strengthening Biodiversity in Protected Areas” (hereinafter referred to as “the Call”).

    The Call was announced on 13 February 2025 and was open to public and non-governmental organisations active in the field of environmental protection. Its objective is to support projects aimed at protecting ecosystems and biodiversity in and around protected areas in Slovakia, improving the condition of habitats, promoting nature-friendly management measures, and implementing educational and awareness-raising initiatives.

    The total financial allocation for this Call was set at EUR 3 150 000.

    The Call was closed on 2 June 2025. A total of 24 project proposals were submitted, amounting to EUR 10 505 229 in requested grants. Within this Call, six projects will be supported, with a total project grant amount of EUR 2 893 892, 85.

    After the completion of contract negotiations for the projects ranked within the Call’s allocation, the Programme Operator will proceed to sign a contract with the project placed first on the reserve list.
