  • “Path of a Pro” at Agrokomplex Draws Nearly 3,000 Young Visitors

Agrokomplex, the largest agricultural and food exhibition in Slovakia, welcomed more than 90,000 visitors this year. As part of the project Improving Quality and Attractiveness of Vocational Education and Training (VET) towards Labour Market Needs, the State Institute of Vocational Education (SIVE) organised two main activities at the jubilee 50th edition of Agrokomplex:

Interactive Game “Path of a Pro”

    • Nearly 3,000 pupils, mostly from primary schools, took part in the game, which was part of the exhibition.
    • Pupils passed through different stations focused on specific professions or skills. The tasks tested not only their knowledge and dexterity but also endurance.
    • Almost one third of participants reached the finish line.
    • At the finish, 120 pupils could use the so-called career mirror—a consultation with a specialist, who provided feedback on which professions suited them best and where their strongest potential lay. For many, this was the first serious impulse to think about their future career path.
    • Activities included: confectionery skills, tasting fruit juices, authentic farm experiences such as milking a model cow, a farm work simulator, handling agricultural tools, and more. Pupils who completed four tasks received a small gift.

    AgroSkills Competition

    • Organised jointly with the Association of Suppliers of Agricultural Technology, AGRION.
    • The competition lasted three days and involved students from vocational secondary schools, who demonstrated practical skills using modern agricultural machinery.
    • Special awards from competition partners were presented for specific skills, such as: best driving skills, best plowing, work with a telescopic handler, installer, component recognition, and welding.
